Terms and Conditions – Warren Blackwood Alliance of Councils Imagery Competition

1. Competition Overview
The Warren Blackwood Alliance of Councils (WBAC) is conducting an imagery competition to gather visual content that showcases the beauty, culture, and essence of the Southern Forests & Valleys region. The competition includes two main categories:
o People: Capture people enjoying our region—showcasing experiences, attractions, events, the outdoors, local attractions, and landmarks in the Southern Forests & Valleys.
o Places: Showcase landscapes, iconic landmarks, and the natural beauty of the Southern Forests & Valleys.
Participants are invited to submit both static images and videos for either or both categories.

2. Eligibility
o The competition is open to all individuals aged 18 and over. Minors may participate with parental or guardian consent.
o By entering, participants confirm that they are the original creators of the submitted imagery.

3. Competition Dates
o Opening Date: 1st November 2024
o Closing Date: 1st March 2025 at 10:00 AM AWST

4. Entry Submission
o Entries must be submitted through the official entry form on the SF&V website.
o Each participant may submit multiple entries in one or both categories.
o Imagery may have been taken at any time within the past year but must be submitted during the competition period.

5. Prizes
o The competition offers a total cash prize pool of $3,000, with separate awards for outstanding still images and video entries in each category.
o Winners will be notified by email and announced on WBAC’s website and SF&V social media channels.

6. Usage Rights
o By submitting an entry, participants grant WBAC full, unrestricted rights to use, reproduce, modify, and publish the imagery and videos for marketing and promotional purposes.
o Whenever possible, WBAC will credit the photographer when using submitted imagery, including linking to the photographer’s social media accounts when available.
o WBAC reserves the right to use all submissions indefinitely across various media, including but not limited to social media, print, digital campaigns, and exhibitions.
o Participants acknowledge that WBAC member shires and Visitor Centres may also use the submitted imagery for promotional and marketing purposes.
o Participants acknowledge that they will not receive any compensation should their work be used by WBAC or its affiliated shires and Visitor Centres.

7. Submission Guidelines
o Image Requirements:
 Images should be high-resolution and, where possible, uncompressed. Acceptable formats are .jpeg, .png, or .tiff.
o Video Requirements:
 Videos must be between 10 seconds and 2 minutes in length. Acceptable formats are .mp4 or .mov.
o Regional Requirement:
 Imagery must be taken within the WBAC region, which encompasses the following towns:
 Balingup
 Boyup Brook
 Bridgetown
 Donnybrook
 Greenbushes
 Manjimup
 Nannup
 Northcliffe
 Pemberton
 Walpole
 Each entry must be accompanied by a title and brief description, including the specific location within the WBAC region where it was captured.

8. Judging Criteria
o Entries will be judged based on originality, composition, technical quality, and relevance to the theme of showcasing the WBAC region.
o Separate consideration will be given to still images and videos within each category.
o Judging will be conducted by a panel appointed by WBAC. The decision of the panel is final.

9. Liability and Indemnity
o WBAC will not be held responsible for any technical failures affecting participation in the competition or for entries not received due to technical issues.
o Participants agree to indemnify WBAC against any claims arising from their submission, including but not limited to copyright infringement.

10. Privacy
o Personal information collected from participants will only be used for the purpose of administering this competition and will be managed in accordance with WBAC’s privacy policy.

By entering this competition, participants agree to these terms and conditions. WBAC reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
