A groundbreaking fusion of art, science, and conservation will be unveiled in Northcliffe with the launch of the Genestreaming Journey Sculpture. This new installation is part of the Gondwana Link Genestreaming Journey Sculpture Trail and serves as a cultural and environmental landmark, bringing together First Nations knowledge and contemporary ecological science.

The project, spearheaded by Menang Elder Aunty Carol Pettersen OAM and artist Ben Beeton, tells a dual story—First Nations art on the exterior reflects cultural connections to Country, while scientific illustrations on the interior showcase local ecosystems and the importance of conservation.

The launch event will feature:

  • Welcome to Country by Aunty Sandra Hill
  • Official unveiling of the Genestreaming Journey Sculpture
  • Genestreaming Journey Sculpture Panel Discussion
  • ‘Another Way’ Exhibition by Desmond Taylor & Helen Seiver (opening at 1 PM at Painted Tree Gallery)
  • Art in Nature Workshop presented by the Art in Nature School

This free community event is an opportunity to engage with artists, conservationists, and community members dedicated to preserving Australia’s natural heritage.
