The Southwest Food Bowl provides a stage for local producers to present their high-quality, sustainable products to around 700 students across two days. Focusing on locally sourced produce, the event supports the livelihoods of dedicated farmers and producers while encouraging sustainable food practices that are beneficial for both the environment and the local economy.
Students will engage in interactive activities related to farming, food, and science, including hands-on demonstrations and training opportunities. Exhibits will feature silage and hay demonstrations, as well as farm tours that allow interaction with farm animals. With significant attendance by local students from the region, this event represents a significant educational opportunity for regional schools.
Nannup is preparing to host the Southwest Food Bowl Agricultural Awareness Day on the 17th and 18th of October 2024. This regional event aims to promote careers in agrifood and the primary industries.
