Established in 2017, the Rotary Tour of the Blackwood is one of the most challenging rides in Western Australia. Starting by the banks of the mighty Blackwood River, the Full Tour meanders some 130km through stunning countryside between beautiful Bridgetown and the magical townsites of Balingup and Nannup, and features over 2000m of climbing including a Category 4 ascent toward the finish line.
We’ve developed three courses tailored to challenge riders of varying fitness levels and experiences. The Not-So-Cozy ride serves as an ideal introductory event, fostering community engagement and encouraging beginners to tackle their first significant road ride, commencing in Greenbushes and concluding at Bridgetown River Park. For more seasoned riders, the Full Tour and Half n Best offer significantly more demanding routes, starting at Bridgetown River Park and traversing through picturesque farmland, forests, river valleys, and charming towns. All courses are electronically timed and finish at the River Park, with the Full Tour beginning at 7am, Half n Best at 9am, and the Not-So-Cozy at 10:00am.
Spectators are encouraged to gather at the finish line to cheer on participants, with post-event festivities at Blackwood River Park featuring food, drinks, massages, and local entertainment, offering a stylish conclusion to the day’s endeavors.
All proceeds from this ride are donated to support youth mental health and Blackwood Youth Action, who provide much needed psychological support services and mental wellness programs for at-risk youth in the Blackwood region.
