We are a small rural property surrounded by farmland and overlooking forest, quiet and serene, but only 10 minutes from Manjimup and 15 mins from Pemberton. The house is a farmhouse style with a 4 metre wide deck extending the length of the house. The house is separated into two sections, with no common areas other than a portion of the front deck, and separate entrances. We live in one section and the other section is for guests.
Black George House is a rural property located in the beautiful Karri forests region in the SW of West Australia. Set on 6 acres and surrounded by farmland and forest the property is only 10 minutes from Manjimup, 15 minutes from Pemberton and 45 minutes from Nannup and Bridgetown. The Walpole Tree Top Walk and Margaret River Wine Region are also both easily accessible as day trips.
In the private guest wing of the house there are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Bedroom 1 is set-up with a queen sized bed and has an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has two single beds and also has an en-suite bathroom . The third bedroom has 2 single beds and also has access to a third private bathroom and toilet located in the laundry. The guest wing also has an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area and a laundry with a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, oven and cooktop, rice cooker, slow cooker, all crockery and cookware). The lounge area has a 65 inch TV with video player, library (books, CDs and videos), a pool table, board games, a wood fire and a sound system. There is a good selection of both adult and children’s DVDs, music CDs and games.
Outside, on the 4m wide verandah, is an outdoor dining setting , a BBQ, bar, outdoor kitchen, casual seating and beautiful views over the property.
There is a 4.5 x 2.5m above ground pool in the front garden (available for use Nov to April) and a table tennis table in the undercover area at the rear of the house.
All bed linen, doonas and towels are supplied. We also stock the fridge for your first day with breakfast supplies; bread, eggs, milk, cereal, butter, tea and coffee (drip, pod and instant).
The property is home to Andrea and Gordon Roper, Shadow the dog, Beeza and Cirren the cats, Fiona, Annabelle, Lucky, Spring, Mocha and Kerala the Alpacas and some tame chooks. All our animals are friendly and the Alpacas can be hand fed. Guests are welcome to bring their own dogs provided that they are also friendly. There is a large and secure fenced enclosure where dogs can be left if you go somewhere and wish to leave them. If you aren’t into animals, that’s fine, our animals are not allowed in the guest wing so you do not need to make contact with them unless you choose to.
There are many wineries, restaurants and attractions within easy reach of our property and we are more than happy to provide advice and directions.
I am a keen biker and we welcome other motorbike riders. We can provide undercover parking for your bikes and can direct you to some of the best motorbike rides in WA; good roads, beautiful scenery, lots of bends and not a lot of traffic.
So, for a relaxing stay, or as a base for riding or exploring, come and experience what the SW has to offer.
We can cater for up to six guests in 3 rooms but we only take one booking per night so whether you book as a couple, a group of friends, or a family, you will have sole occupancy of the entire guest wing of the house.
