The Nannup War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those who enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force during World War One. The foundation stone was laid by Mrs Kidd on the 24th November 1917. The memorial was unveiled by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia, Sir William Ellison-Macartney in January 1918. The memorial of Donnybrook stone was engraved with the names of nearly 200 men from the district who had enlisted.
