Nestled among the towering karri forests of Manjimup lies Truffle Hill, Australia’s premier farm producing the world’s most coveted black truffles. A singular vision led Truffle Hill to be established in 1997: cultivating and offering the highest quality Black Périgord (Tuber Melanosporum) truffles in Australia. We chose the famed terroir of Manjimup, Western Australia, because of its climate and environment rivalling Périgord, France. We planted the first truffle-inoculated hazelnut and oak trees on vast rolling hills studded with towering forest giants. With this act, we pioneered black truffle farming in mainland Australia

Truffle Hunting Experience
Truffle Hill was the first truffière to be established in Manjimup, Western Australia back in 1997. Dedication, devotion, and sheer hard work has seen Truffle Hill become one of the largest producers of black Périgord truffles in the world.
Truffle Hill is one of the few truffières in the world that allows a select number of people to participate in a truffle hunt in the winter months and see for themselves the fascination of how truffles grow, are hunted, and checked for maturity, and then harvested.
Experience for yourself the uniqueness of a truffle hunt!
Join Adrian and his team of trusted hounds at the cellar door where you will be promptly taken to a magical section of our truffiere, where he can answer all your questions regarding truffle production. He will explain and demonstrate how we harness the incredible olfactory sense that the canine species possess to locate the most wonderful, ripe truffles in the world for one of the most unique and fun-filled hours of your life. You are more than welcome to get your hands dirty to dig the truffles yourself once one of the dogs have located them, or leave it to the hunter. This component of the Truffle Experience will last for 1 hour.
By choosing The Truffle Experience, after your hunt with our expert dogs you will be joined at the restaurant alfresco area for a private, guided truffle and wine tasting with our experienced cellar door team. Taste your way through truffle infused local delights and our multi-award winning boutique wine range, handcrafted in Manjimup by head winemaker Mark Aitken.

Truffle Hill Wines
From the very beginnings of a trufficulture in France there have been poachers who would patiently wait for truffle harvest and sneak in the dark of night to steal the valuable maturing truffles. So truffle farmers would plant vines surrounding the truffière to protect their truffle treasure. A tale that Truffle Hill have re-created, not for poachers but more for their love of wine. And let’s face it, “Wine by itself is a wonderful thing, but add truffle and it is taken to another level.” Mark Aitken, Truffle Hill Winemaker
Our award-winning wines have earned a 5 star rating from James Halliday, famous Australian wine writer and food critic.
