From Nornalup, follow the South Coast Highway west across the Frankland River bridge (be aware of vehicles on the road) and hit the start of Labyrinth just after the bridge on your right. This is a long, winding climb through the karri and tingle forest to the top of the hill. Although you will have already seen some enormous tingle trees, you could stop in and check out the biggest of them all – the Giant Tingle Tree. This tree is listed on the National Register of Big Trees as having the largest girth in Australia (excluding Ficus species). There are toilets and picnic tables here.
Your journey becomes easier from here. Robin’s Hood is also a long, winding trail but it’s all downhill! Smooth, flowing curves make this trail super fun and enjoyable. About half way along, Hilltop Lookout provides great views out over the Frankland River, Nornalup Inlet and the Southern Ocean.
At the bottom of Robin’s Hood, turn right and find your way to Walpole along Once Upon a Time. If you’d rather ride back to Nornalup, you can follow the Munda Biddi Trail east and ride back down the bottom section of Labyrinth to Nornalup.
