Suitable for all riders, Robin’s Hood showcases the dynamic landscape and natural beauty of the Giants Trails. This single direction trail starts near the Giant Tingle Tree and can be ridden in one swoop or you can stop and take in the views over Kwakoorillup Beela (Frankland River) and the Southern Ocean at Hilltop Lookout. You can access the halfway point of Robin’s Hood from Walpole by riding up Rapunzel’s Tower or parking at Hilltop Lookout.
This trail is named for the boydil or white-breasted robin that inhabits the understory of the tall karri and tingle forest. Rather than robbing the rich to give to the poor, the male robin provides food to the female during their courtship and while she’s sitting on the nest. These courageous birds are known to distract intruders from their nest by pretending to have a broken wing.
