The annual SEVEN Gravel Race starts and finishes in the picturesque township of Nannup and is a 125 km mountain biking route featuring ten categorised climbs, with over 3000 metres of elevation gain.
SEVEN have launched two training rides that include parts of the SEVEN race routes: The Nannup and The Lewana.
LEWANA TRAINING ROUTES
LONG: 63 km – 1680 vertical metres
SHORTER: 56.7km – 1470 vertical metres
Start & finish: Lewana Cottages, Balingup-Nannup Road
This route is a great training ground for SEVEN, giving you a real sense of the terrain of the full course without riding on private property or entering active forestry zones.
It starts and finishes at Lewana Cottages on Balingup-Nannup Road, which is our halfway checkpoint and rider feed zone on race day. The long route takes you down the new descent of Dugite, twice up The Crucible Climb, and gives you a little extra in The Labyrinth. (Note the detour down Quokka, in case trees are down on Ridge.)
PARK OPPOSITE THE ENTRY TO LEWANA COTTAGES – CLEARED AREA ON THE OTHER SIDE OF BALINGUP-NANNUP ROAD
Parking within the grounds of Lewana Cottages is for quests only. Jayne and Mark Dickson are the owners, and great supporters of SEVEN and all things cycling. While you’re there, pop in to the Little Shop and say hello!
