We’re delighted to see the new trails at the Pemberton Arboretum officially open, another fantastic reason to visit the Southern Forests & Valleys!
Our region continues to grow as one of Western Australia’s premier destinations for nature-based tourism, and this exciting new, family-friendly trail network adds even more to experience for visitors exploring Pemberton and beyond.
What’s new?
• 12km of mountain bike trails
• Two short walk trails
• New visitor facilities including toilets and shelter
• 45-bay car park
• Sealed access road
The Arboretum further strengthens Pemberton’s reputation as a must-visit destination for outdoor adventure, relaxation and immersive nature experiences.

Explore the historic police station, complete with original jail cells, artefacts and fascinating displays, and learn about law, order and early settlement in the town, then discover the newly opened Orcharding Museum, celebrating Bridgetown’s rich fruit-growing history.

The Southern Forests & Valleys Heritage Festival is the perfect time to step outside and discover the rich history woven through our landscapes. From heritage walks and scenic drives to forest trails and coastal paths, there are dozens of trails to explore across the region. And the best part? They are open all year round!
Wander through towering karri forests on the Pemberton Heritage Trail and Gloucester Tree Walk, uncover local stories along the Bridgetown, Balingup, Greenbushes and Nannup Heritage Trails, or take in riverside views on the Blackwood River Walk.
Explore the Giant Tingle Tree and Coalmine Beach Heritage Walks in Walpole or the Coastal Survivors Walk at Windy Harbour, then discover the region’s timber and settlement history along trails like Manjimup to Deanmill Heritage Trail, Nannup Timberline Trail, and the Heritage Connections Drive Trail.
