Little House Republic offers a unique and sustainable off-grid experience that will nourish your soul. Their luxury retreats are nestled in the serene Scott River peppermint trees on 750 hectares of private property, providing the perfect getaway for those seeking to connect with nature in style.

Opened in December 2022, these architecturally designed ‘little houses’ exemplify sustainable tourism, displaying how you can make a lighter impact while travelling. Powered by solar energy and rainwater, each property is thoughtfully designed to immerse you in nature from the moment you arrive.

Accessed via private driveways on unspoiled active pastoral land that has seen only family for over 130 years, you will feel like your worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The Slip Rails is lodged in the middle of two hillocks surrounded by peppermint trees and undulating hills and valleys. The romance of the Australian stock routes is imprinted into this site, where generations of stockmen boiled the billy before droving the cattle through the slip rail fence on their way home to Nannup after a long summer of grazing. Imagine yourself cosied up on the window seat, lost in a good book while the indoor wood fire crackles and the distant wild Southern Ocean roars in the background.

Other property Vern’s Ridge is nestled above an historic, abandoned farmhouse and thoughtfully designed with all the creature comforts you could want. Large picture windows connect you to the outside throughout the property creating the sensation of sleeping and living in the trees. Snuggled on the bed, sundowners on the deck or wrapped in a blanket toasting marshmallow around the outside fire pit, you have front row seats to natures show.

Both properties are furnished with design-led, sustainable amenities and fixtures, such as natural linen bedding, recycled wool blankets, and an Ocean Cycle certified Ecosa mattress made from recycled plastic bottles collected from the ocean.

Little House Republic is dedicated to making a positive impact on both the environment and local communities, striving to reduce waste and energy usage while also nurturing the land.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our properties, as our guests can calculate their journey to us and purchase offsets to support Western Australian landscape restoration and conservation projects through our partnership with Carbon Positive Australia.

Whether it’s a hike to the private beach, exploring nearby national parks and wineries, or simply relaxing with a good book, we invite you to experience sustainable luxury in the heart of nature.
