Nestled within the towering trees of Pemberton Forest Park, the Pemberton Pool is a beloved destination for both locals and visitors. Originally constructed in the late 1920s for the families of timber workers, this historic swimming spot has remained an iconic retreat for generations.
Located on the Lefroy Brook, next to the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park, the pool is an ideal place for a summer swim, a relaxing picnic, or a BBQ with family and friends. Pemberton Forest Park itself spans 120 hectares and features 22 kilometres of mountain bike tracks and dual-use trails, making it a hub for outdoor enthusiasts.
The park is primarily Karri forest, interspersed with Marri trees, and an understory rich in native species like Acacia urophylla and Trymalium spathulatum. Wildlife is abundant, with kangaroos, Bush Rats, frogs, snakes, and other reptiles often spotted. The park is also home to unique aquatic life, including the Lamprey (Geotria australis) and Marron (Cherax tenuimanus), and offers excellent birdwatching opportunities.
Whether you’re exploring the trails, taking a dip in the historic pool, or simply soaking in the beauty of the surrounding forest, Pemberton Pool is a must-visit destination in the heart of town.
