HISTORY
Nannup was first discovered in 1834 after a group of explorers tracked the Blackwood River to the site. Originally a dedicated meeting place for Wardandi and Bibbulmun people, Nannup was named by these groups as “place to stop and rest”. The town was later declared in 1890, with agriculture and timber milling were the primary sources of income for the townspeople. Today, Nannup is home to a dedicated group of locals who celebrate its history and rich land with festivals and markets.
