Golden Valley Tree Park is a celebration of trees. It’s set on two former farming properties worked by original settlers.
Today the 60-hectares of the landscaped countryside is an ideal spot for relaxing picnics and short walks. If you don’t want to rough it on the grass, make use of the picnic tables, benches and gas barbeques provided and dogs are welcome (on leads).
Golden Valley is special because it holds the largest arboretum in the State. Marvel at the awesome native trees as well as exotic trees from around the world. Choose one of six self-guided walk tracks that lead you around the best of the park’s collections. Which trees will be your favourites?
The park has year-round interest, there’s always something different to see. Experience its many picturesque moods that change with the seasons and weather. In springtime enjoy pretty blossoms and take in their aromatic scent that fills the air. In contrast, autumn visits offer up a riot of rich and heady colours. Appreciate the red, orange and golden tones of leaves as deciduous trees prepare for winter.
The Bibbulmun Track passes through the park as it heads south from Balingup.
