Big Brook State Forest was the first karri forest to be regrown for timber after the logging of the 1920s and 1930s. Explore a young timber forest, discover trees from around the world and come and enjoy this rejuvenated forest.

Dogs on a leash are welcome at the Arboretum.
Get excellent views of Warren River Cedar trees from specially designed boardwalks and don’t miss Big Karri, a 300-year-old karri tree, marvel at the size of this enormous old karri tree, ‘Big Karri’ is still thriving!
Enjoy one of the several walking trails that allow you to explore the natural beauty of the area. The trails vary in length and difficulty, catering to different fitness levels and interests. You can enjoy leisurely walks through the forest, discovering picturesque streams and serene picnic spots. A must do trail is the 100 Year Forest walk trial, this walk loop provides you with an opportunity to explore this magnificent karri forest on foot and see an example of natural regeneration from formerly cleared farm land.
Visit Big Brook Dam, a fantastic destination for swimming, fishing, and canoeing. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a delightful picnic by the water’s edge, capturing picture-perfect moments. Embark on the 4km walk and cycle trail that gracefully follows the dam’s shores, catering to families with its stroller and wheelchair accessibility.
